through my 8 months of a phlebotomist, i've heard great comments like 'you take blood very good ah, not pain' 'you can find my vein ah, even doctor also cannot' or 'you poke my baby very well, she never cry at all so experienced (joshua dah's parents)' . but overall, i still have goals for myself in phlebotomy.

1) to be able to take every patient and not pass any to HK or MF, whoever's partnering me. so far, i aim 1 a day to pass, if possible none which i'm able to achieve.
2) to not have patients coming back and complaining that they have blueblack marks. that i'm still trying to improve on. but really leh, its not the phlebotomist's fault, its the patients who don't press hard on their wound for 10 minutes and come complain back to us.
3) to be able to smile at every patient no matter how irritating they are. everyday we're faced with some stooooooopid CSC(ok no offence to civil servants here) pple who think they are so inferior to everyone else. or some people who doesn't admit to their mistakes (eg, they must test urine but they insist its something else when its plain to see that its URINE FEME on the test form)
4) to be able to be gentle on every baby. how to tell? if they cry or not lor. but i find (not that im boasting) that every baby i take, nowadays, don't cry at all. so much so that, HK keep looking at how i take the babies. hah. ok but still got room for improvement.
5) to be able to find the centre veins for every patient and not take dorsals. ok this is the technicalities of phlebotomy. IT IS AN ART.

basically, that's about it. my job goals
